We were particularly inspired by a few excellent websites:

Django, a web framework based on the Python programming language, used for managing user accounts and serving the site’s content.

PostgreSQL, an open-source database for securely storing user data on our server.

jQuery, Really useful javascript framework.

jQuery UI, For creating a number of interactive elements on the page (form autocomplete, tabbed displays, dialog boxes, etc.).

jQuery Numeric, makes input fields so that the user can only enter numbers (no letters).

jQPlot, For making attractive charts right in the web browser.

Google Maps API, Driving distances to waste handling facilities were determined with the brilliant Google Distance Matrix API.
